Cox Webmail is a free email service, which is provided by Cox Communications, Inc. to all of its high-speed internet customers. The company itself was founded in 1962, has more than six million customers and offers a range of different products, including cable television, broadband internet, digital telephone and home security.
As standard, the Cox.net email service provides users with up to 10 separate email addresses, each with 2GB of storage space, as well as built-in spam and virus protection. However, email addresses are directly linked to the high-speed internet service, meaning disconnection from the service will result in account deletion.
How do I Register For a Cox Webmail Account?
In order to register for a Cox email account, you need to be an active Cox internet customer and have an existing User ID and password. From there, go to the Cox homepage at either Cox.com or Cox.net and click on the link near the top of the screen labelled ‘Sign In – My Account’. Then, enter your User ID and password and click ‘Sign In’.
You will then find yourself on the My Account page. To add a new email address to your User ID, click on ‘View My Profile’, then go to the ‘Users & Email Accounts’ tab, which is found on the right hand side. Next to your username, click on the ‘Create Email Account’ link, then click on ‘Create Email Account’ again on the pop up box.
At this point, you should see a confirmation message which states ‘You’ve successfully created a Cox Email account for this user’. Accounts can also be created for secondary User IDs associated with the account by clicking ‘Modify User’ and then clicking on the ‘Create Email Account’ option.
How do I Log In to my Cox Email Account?
Once you have created an account, the Cox.net email sign in process is fairly straight forward. The best way to access your email address is to visit https://myemail.cox.net/ and use the login form on the homepage. With that said, an alternative link that will allow you to log in to your account can be found by clicking here.
From there, simply enter your User ID and password into the relevant fields, then click on the ‘Sign In’ button underneath. If you are not using a shared computer, you also have the option of checking the ‘Remember User ID’ box, which will make future sign in attempts quicker and easier.

FAQ – Why can’t I sign in to my Cox Email Account?
Users may occasionally experience login problems when using the Cox.net email service, but fortunately most of these issues have simple solutions. The most common problem is incorrect login details being entered, so take care when typing your User ID and password, and make sure there are no typing errors before clicking ‘Sign In’.
It is important to remember that passwords are case sensitive, so need to be entered exactly as they were during the sign up process. For this reason, you should ensure the CAPS LOCK function is switched off on your computer’s keyboard. Similarly, you need to make sure the NUM LOCK feature is turned off as well.
Another common issue is forgotten passwords, but this can be resolved by clicking the ‘Forgot Password?’ link underneath the main sign in form. From there, you will need to enter the answer to the security question that is set up from within My Account. If you have forgotten this, you will need to contact customer support. Following the forgotten password process to its conclusion will result in a new password being created.
In the event that you have forgotten your User ID, you can click the ‘Forgot User ID’ link from the login form. To retrieve it, you will need to enter your 16-digit account number, your PIN, or your Social Security Number, as well as the answer to your security question. Your User ID will then be displayed on the screen.
Multiple consecutive unsuccessful login attempts may result in you being locked out of the account, which is done for security purposes. If this occurs, you will need to follow the same procedure as with a forgotten password.
If you continue to experience issues and you are sure you are entering the correct information, it may be worth clearing your web browser’s history, cookies and cache before trying again. If that still does not resolve the problem, try logging in on a different device, or through a different web browser.
